    Jewelry Care

Our jewelry is made of 925 silver. The lifespan of the jewelry can be extended as long as proper and regular care is applied. To keep your jewelry in its original condition, you should follow some basic guidelines:

    • As far as possible, do not wear rings and other jewelry while doing gardening, playing sports, or swimming (salt or chlorinated water).
    • Silver is a highly malleable material, which means it can be easily deformed. Avoid wearing the rings while performing tasks in which the ring may receive a blow or be exposed to pressure.
    • Remove jewelry before going to bed and before showering. To preserve the gold plating, it is essential not to get the jewelry wet, as wetting it reduces the duration of the finish.
    • Perfumes and sprays can cause the jewelry to lose its luster. Use perfumes, hair sprays, and other cosmetics before putting on the jewelry. Contact with these agents is highly detrimental to gold-plated jewelry.
    • Avoid leaving your jewelry in direct sunlight or humid places, as exposure to these factors may damage your jewelry. We advise you to give a second life to your KRYFT boxes by using them as jewelry boxes.

    CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Use a jewelry cleaning cloth to polish lightly tarnished areas and remove dullness, restoring the jewelry to its original luster.

To clean, use a small amount of neutral soap mixed with warm water and rub your jewelry gently with a soft brush.

Gold-plated silver jewelry should only be cleaned gently with a microfiber cloth specifically made for cleaning jewelry, without applying any liquid or cleaning product.

HOW TO PRESERVE THE ENAMEL OF MY ARTISTIC JEWELRY?

Many of our jewels are hand-painted with enamel for a colorful, oil-painting-like finish. These pieces require special care:

    • Avoid contact with cleaning products or corrosive agents.
    • Protect from bumps, scratches, and continuous friction.
    • Do not get the jewelry wet, as moisture may degrade the enamel.
    • For resizable rings, be careful when adjusting size β€” sudden expansion can crack the enamel.

    WHY DOES SILVER BLACKEN?

The blackening of silver is a natural and reversible process caused mainly by contact with sulfur particles in the air.

Silver reacts with various agents including perfumes, chlorine, make-up, hair sprays, onions, and even the pH of your skin.

If your jewelry darkens, it's not a quality issue β€” it's a thin, protective reaction layer forming on the surface.

HOW CAN I RESTORE THE SHINE TO MY JEWELRY?

You can restore the shine using commercial silver cleaners or simple DIY methods:

    • Water and salt: Dissolve 1 tablespoon of salt in boiling water, soak the jewelry overnight, then dry with a soft cloth the next day.
    • Baking soda and vinegar: Mix 1 tablespoon baking soda with 1/4 cup white vinegar. Let it fizz, add your jewelry, soak for 5 minutes, then dry and polish with a soft cloth.
